Fusarium Wilt of Cucumber- A Review

چکیده
Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) wilt is an important disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum. The prevalent in most of the countries world with yield losses ranging from 40–70%. Characteristic symptoms include pre and post-emergence damping-off, stunting, chlorosis, necrosis finally wilting older leaves brown vascular discoloration. Two formae speciales F. oxysporum have been described cucumber. fungus grows profusely on culture media produces macroconidia which are tapered a slight hook, microconidia oval shape terminal or intercalary chlamydospores. prevails under conditions having abundant soil moisture temperature 24–27oC no growth was observed above 37oC. pathogen host-specific to cucumber muskmelon watermelon being slightly sensitive. Due environment health concerns associated large scale use chemicals, application resistant germplasm, bio-control agents, bio formulations more reliable. This review describes bio-formulations fungicides control

Suppression of Fusarium wilt of cucumber by ammonia gas fumigation via reduction of Fusarium population in the field
Cucumber plants subjected to consecutive monoculture for 9 years were found to suffer from severe Fusarium wilt disease, caused by the soil-borne fungus Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Cucumerinum J. H. Owen. In the present study, greenhouse experiments were performed to evaluate the influence of ammonia gas fumigation on Fusarium wilt suppression, fungal abundance and fungal community composition. R...
متن کاملRhizosphere Inhibition of Cucumber Fusarium Wilt by Different Surfactin- excreting Strains of Bacillus subtilis
Bacillus subtilis B006 strain effectively suppresses the cucumber fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum (Foc). The population dynamics of Foc, strain B006 and its surfactin over-producing mutant B841 and surfactin-deficient mutant B1020, in the rhizosphere were determined under greenhouse conditions to elucidate the importance of the lipopeptides excreted by these strain...
متن کاملEffect of Liming and Nitrogen Source on Fusarium Wilt of Cucumber and Watermelon1
Two field experiments (Spring, 1974 and 1975) were conducted on Myakka fine sand to determine the effect of lime and nitrogen source on the development of Fusarium wilt of cucumber and watermelon. The same site, with the same experimental design, was used for each experiment. In both experiments, gross yields were increased and wilt development decreased by raising the soil pH with hydrated lim...
متن کاملNitrate Increased Cucumber Tolerance to Fusarium Wilt by Regulating Fungal Toxin Production and Distribution
Cucumber Fusarium wilt, induced by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cucumerinum (FOC), causes severe losses in cucumber yield and quality. Nitrogen (N), as the most important mineral nutrient for plants, plays a critical role in plant-pathogen interactions. Hydroponic assays were conducted to investigate the effects of different N forms (NH₄⁺ vs. NO₃‒) and supply levels (low, 1 mM; high, 5 mM) on cucu...
